Michael Ahearn Photographer


Michael Ahearn was born in Chicago where he studied graphic design at the Art Institute. He began his career at the firm of Young and Rubicam as an assistant art director. After a few years he went on to start his own graphic design studio. It was at this time that he became interested in photography and taught himself to process and print. He eventually devoted all his time to photography, taking assignments from both editorial and commercial clients. He was invited to become a contributing photographer to Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine, where he photographed many of the outstanding personalities of our time. Michael Ahearn's work has appeared in other publications such as Connoisseur, Fame, both German and Italian Vogue, Vibe and Town & Country. His work is represented in the collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the University of Pennsylvania, Haverford College, Lehigh University and numerous private collections. He lives near Philadelphia, PA but travels extensively as a photographer.
